  • The whole server is backed up as an image
  • SSL/TLS encryption in transit
  • Only changed blocks are sent
  • Restore from a single file to a full machine

Keep the backups of your virtual machines outside your own servers. There is no storage infrastructure to set up or maintain. Your server is backed up as an image, that is, as a whole with its operating system, applications and data.

Cloud image backup

How does image backup work?

  1. Setting up the connection

From the console of your backup software, you establish a secure connection to the Verinomi backup server network. All you need to do is enter the address and credentials assigned to you.

  2. Backup process

You create a backup job for your virtual machines or physical servers. "Cloud Repository" is selected as the target. When the backup starts, your data is encrypted and sent directly to the Verinomi infrastructure.

  3. WAN acceleration and optimization

Thanks to built-in WAN acceleration technology, backups send only the data blocks that have changed. This saves bandwidth and backups take less time.

  4. Data security

Your data is encrypted with SSL/TLS during transfer. At the storage stage, you can optionally use client-side encryption. In that case nobody else, including Verinomi, can see the contents of the backups.

  5. Disaster recovery and restore

When a problem occurs, you can access your backups in the cloud and carry out a file-level restore or a full machine recovery.

Image backup features

Easy setup and management

You can set up your connection from the backup console and manage all your backups from a single place.

Built-in WAN acceleration

Your backups send only the data blocks that have changed. This saves bandwidth and shortens backup time.

End-to-end encryption

Your data is encrypted with SSL/TLS during transfer. By optionally adding client-side encryption, you can make sure that no one, including the service provider, can access your data.

Full machine recovery

If your server becomes unusable, you can restore the machine you backed up as a whole, with its operating system, applications and data.

Flexible retention policies

You can decide how long backups are kept according to your needs, which also helps you use storage space efficiently.

Flexible restore options

Depending on your needs, you can restore at any level you like, from a single file to an entire virtual machine. Separate recovery options are offered for your applications, databases or full servers.

No infrastructure cost

You do not need to set up, manage or maintain your own cloud storage infrastructure. You pay for the storage space you need.

Ransomware protection and security

Because your backups are kept in the cloud, a ransomware attack on your local infrastructure does not affect them. In addition, the immutable backup option can prevent backups from being deleted or overwritten.

Automatic reporting and notifications

You can receive the status of your backup jobs as a report by e-mail at the intervals you configure in advance. Successful backups, warnings and errors are listed in these reports.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to set up my own infrastructure for cloud image backup?

No, you do not need to set up or manage any cloud storage infrastructure. Cloud image backup works using the service provider's infrastructure; you pay for the storage space you need.

Is my data safe? Can others access it?

Yes, your data is encrypted with SSL/TLS during transfer. You can also optionally add client-side encryption; in that case no one, including the service provider, can access your data.

How long do backups take? Will they strain my bandwidth?

Thanks to built-in WAN acceleration technology, only the data blocks that have changed are sent. This saves bandwidth and shortens backup time. The duration depends on the amount of data and your connection.

How do I get my data back in the event of a disaster?

When a problem occurs, you can access your backups in the cloud and restore at any level, from a single file to an entire virtual machine.

Does it protect against ransomware attacks?

Yes, your backups are kept in the cloud, independent of your local infrastructure. If you add the immutable backup option, backups are also prevented from being deleted or overwritten.

How long can I keep my backups?

You can set the retention period yourself. The longer the period, the more storage space is needed.
