Preventing Spam from Being Sent on cPanel Servers

Spam being sent from VPS, VDS and physical servers running cPanel is a problem many people share.

The steps below can help reduce it.

Go to WHM / Service Manager and, if the option below is ticked, untick it.

" Antirelayd "

Provides the IMAP/POP before SMTP authentication method. This is not recommended, and should be disabled on modern systems in favor of SMTP authentication.

- Go to WHM / Main / Tweak Settings and set the option below to Fail.

Initial default/catch-all forwarder destination [?] Fail

Connect to your server over SSH as root and run the command below.

/usr/local/cpanel/bin/tailwatchd --disable=Cpanel::TailWatch::Antirelayd
